Dependent Child Category

This category of Visa is for the individuals who are either residents or citizens of the country and wish to bring their dependent children to live with them. This category of Visa is applicable for dependent children who are 24 yrs old or under. With this Visa your children can live and study in the country and if old enough can work too.

Points to be Noted

Children who were eligible for New Zealand residence under the family quota, refugee family support category, Samoa quota scheme and Pacific access category but were not included in your residence application will not be eligible for dependent child visa NZ category.

If your dependent children were eligible for residence under any other category but were not included in the application, then you may be asked to furnish a plausible cause for the same.

If your child is a citizen by birth then you may not need to apply for this Visa.
